Sophia Turns Seven: McDonald's Winx Club Party

I've been meaning to blog about this few days after the event but like what I said on my status on my page, I found no joy in doing so because of this sad cake story. No worries, I have moved on. I realized that what matters most was we made our birthday girl very happy.

R and I originally wished for an out of the country celebration for Sophia's 7th birthday - a trip to Hongkong Disneyland, specifically. Unfortunately, it all depended on my savings since all of R's salary goes to bills, everyday expenses and our girl's school fees. I only had Bebeng's Kitchen then that its earnings weren't enough for the celebration I hoped for. Good thing she chose to have a party with our families and her friends. I think it's the more practical choice that time.

Sophia Turns Six: Cupcake School Party

It's December 1st today - more than two months after this was held - I can finally share with you the photos of Sophia's simple party at school. You see, I am now breathing normally. I'm savoring the calm days left before the Christmas madness begins. Actually, not days but few hours left. It will be mompreneurhood at its finest. Christmas orders, Sophia's Christmas presentation and party, shopping, husband's holiday break, home decorating, and more. Whew.

The Tale of the Broken Birthday Cake

Thanks again, Google!
Okay. This is my first post for this month.

Guess what, it's my birthday today, too! So it's sort of a birthday post. Well, while doing so, Chef's popped up on the right side of my computer screen. I just decided to blog and watch because I broke my birthday cake. *bawling like a cow scheduled for slaughter* Broke means, as in split into two; worse, kinda diagonally (insert sobbing kittens here). I was transferring it into the plate when... like how Hulk smashed skyscrapers in New York... there, the soft sorrowful sound of my shattered dreams — er, crumbled dark chocolate cake.

I don't freakin' know what I've gone wrong. It just happened. Just.like.that.

Nanaygosyante 2013: October

My daughter's birthday will not be as fab as it was if not for the colorful intricately designed birthday tutu outfit that she wore during her party at school. I was the happiest mom to see my birthday girl having a blast with her classmates and teachers.

Sophia Turns Five: My Little Pony School Party

When I was Googling for parties with My Little Pony themes, almost all of the girls who had it were five-year-olds or older. It's undeniably a little lady's favorite. My little girl breathes ponies day in and day out. Instead of saying everybody, she'd say "every pony". She'd sleep with her ponies, plays with them whenever she can and sometimes tags them along when she poops. Haha! Yes, she is that hooked to the colorful gallopin' cuties. So even without asking her, I decided to make it as her school party's theme. As you will see in the photos, the ponies weren't that evident 'cause it's not easy to look for MLP merchandise here in the Philippines, so I played with colors of the ponies instead.

Warning: I'll be flooding this post with photos from the event. I enjoyed being the photographer that I didn't have a photo with the celebrant. You know, something for posterity. Well, we had one; a family selfie inside the car. That'll do. Hehe. Anyway, if I had the means and money, I could have just ordered party paraphernalia here. But because we're a single-income family, I went DIY. Momma, I had a blast up to the littlest of details!

Sophia Turned Five: Lunch at Home and Dinner at Red Ribbon

Two weeks and few days earlier, the Rayala kingdom was uber busy preparing for the princess' 5th birthday party which was held at her school. I will share with you the details of LB's colorful gallopin' gala of sweets and fun party on a separate post. If you wish to see it on Instagram, you may search it via this hashtag #LBTurnsFive. Yes, may sariling hashtag ang event ng bagets! In the meantime, allow me to make kwento the things that happened on her exact birth date.

Happy Birthday to Me

There. Instrument or tool? 'Di ba pareho lang yun? Hahaha! Apologies if I pronounced some words wrongly and if there were grammar lapses; perstaym, muthers eh. Kaloka, nag-emote pa. Bwahahaha! I'm really like that in person; ask my husband, family and close friends. Well, I just realized... Ang arte ko pala magsalita. Hihi. Anyway, when I opened my Google today, this is what I saw ---

One Before 29

Exactly a month from now, it'll be my last year on being in my 20s. Yes, I'm only 29 or I'm 29 already! If you think I look older, I'm planning to take anti-aging moisturizer na, promise. If you think I look younger naman, uy salamat. Saka na yung jacket ah, nasa pagawaan pa. Hehe.

Well, I don't have a particular wish for my birthday. I'm not even asking the jowabelles to come home on that exact date 'cause LB's birthday falls on the same month. I want him to be with her on her special day. I do have few 'material' wishes though but when I calculated the amount I might be spending on the girl's 5th simple birthday party at school, I changed my mind.
